Inconsistent!!!

After two nights of watching football, I again started off my prep today...

The dismal performance in Verbal continues with me getting as many wrongs as rights..or, sometimes even more..

I have turned complacent lately trying to give myself an excuse that I work so its okay to be inconsistent. But then everybody writing GMAT does...

Rude Shock!!

After a great weekend and morale boosting home run ( Quants), I was up for a rude shock today....

solved 2 RCs and got all questions on the first one wrong....Now that hurts.......

I realized I was rushing too fast to get clarity on the content....I need to slow down, take a deep breath, create a mind-map and then solve the questions...

I hope I would be able to devise strategy for GMAT, especially RCs by the weekend....

See you tomorrow...Good night!!

Anytime you suffer a setback or disappointment, put your head down and plow ahead.

Plaing on the Home Ground! ( Friday, 20th April 2012)

I come back from office, sip in some tea, dream for a while, make some plans on couple of pages only to discard them and to make new ones...Well, this has been my routine for quite a long but I can't complain! GMAT is less than 2 months away and I need to rush....

So, after following my useless routine for a couple of hours after reaching home, I did open books to study....and...saw my mind wandering to the best schools in Europe :P

So, I started off with quants ( an easy way out on a Friday night :P) and did well as expected...Solved 1 questions from Manhattan and got 14 of them right....Quants seem to be the silk route but I have got a problem! I follow more of an intuition and less of procedure only to end up messing up at times when its too simple a problem to stretch your intuition...

So my job in quants would be more focused on developing checks and balances to avoid stupidities. I do not think I should study more than this on a Friday night.....See you on Monday!!!

Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new.

Day 1

It's midnight and I am going to start my GMAT preparations..

I am hoping to write GMAT around mid-June and targeting a score of 720+

Just analyzed my strengths and weaknesses.. I do feel comfortable with most of the areas evaluated in GMAT but being out of school for quite some time now, I need to pull my socks and brush up everything I did not pay attention to during my school..

Quant looks comfortable except Geometry where I suck really badly... My target for next 1 week is to be comfortable with fundamentals of geometry..

Verbal is my Achilles heel. Though I am comfortable with critical reasoning ( It's not verbal after all :P), I tend to make blunders in sentence correction and tend to get bored with RCs.. My task for next couple of weeks is to minimize m boredom with RCs and be more organized in m approach to SC.

Plan
I plan .to spend 1. to 2 hours on weekdays and 4 hours each on weekends towards m preparation for GMAT..I have not devised any granular plan yet but I plan to do that within next couple of days.. I will post the same in the blog accordingly.

With this, I conclude. Good night!

I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past.
